There's a reason why "green" is the color that specifies nitrogen use, right down to the valve stem caps you use. So I say, in all things ... GO GREEN! And I utilize 4ESYT to show you how you can inflate your auto tires *DIY* with nitrogen easily, effectively, and inexpensively. Here's my story!

A few stats on the subject

Did you know an estimated 85% of drivers on the road in the U.S. do NOT regularly check their tire pressure? This leads to lowered fuel economy, faster wear-out of your tires - and frankly, less safety for you and your family. And, if you're like me, you live in an area where tire-service shops don't sell nitrogen for inflating tires. They think the investment is expensive, and they will say "not enough people request nitrogen inflation." Maybe that's because they haven't learned about it, yet.

Because of its benefits, did you know? ... that nitrogen tire inflation is now a standard for many over-the-road haulers, as well as Indy & NASCAR teams (where it was first used), commercial airplane & jet tires, buses, Walmart's 54 fleet service-centers for their trucks, heavy equipment earth-mover tires, NASA, and the US Military.

On this website, you can read information on safely inflating your tires the first time, storing portable top-offs for continued use (when you need more nitrogen after a flat repair, or you're on long hauls), and storing a supply of nitrogen in your garage.

I want to tell you about my experience with nitrogen inflation over the past 11 years, and
pass on what I learned. This is how our services came about, and led to our small business.

4ESYT began because I GOT MAD

Personally, I don't like spending exorbitant, ever-increasing prices on tires - just to have moisture, oxidation, sun and low humidity eat them up before I can wear the tread off them by driving! We own 31 tires in the family - and for our top three most-used vehicles (12 tires), we paid a total of $2,200. WOW!

Now, imagine that I drive all these vehicles to a town (my closest is 80 miles) where I CAN get nitrogen inflation. Besides four cars & trucks (3 of which take 55+ lbs. per tire), there's our RV travel trailer, boat trailer, utility trailer, a motorcycle, and 5 spare tires. Even if I wasn't interested in extending the life of my tires, just the fact they stay up-to-pressure, year-round, nets me: savings in fuel mileage, and provides safety.

And yes, 78% of the air we breathe is nitrogen - however, did you ever wonder why, over a one-month period (and 3, 6, to 9 months), your tire pressure goes down? The 22% of oxygen in that tire air is causing oxidation damage you don't see, seeping out [even through the tire wall], and 22% is a big LOSS in terms of a tire's pressure.

If you listen to "nay-sayers" about the lack of benefits of using nitrogen in your tires, here's what really convinced me to the contrary. In late 2007, we put new tires (5, including spare) on our travel trailer in Kansas (at our hometown tire shop, which sold a LOT of nitrogen inflation for tires - on cars, trucks, tractor tires, farm vehicles and implements, and over-the-road haulers). These 5 new tires we bought were filled with nitrogen right then (at $4 per tire, plus tax), as were our vehicles. We were winter-traveling to New Mexico!

However, we decided to move here. Once we found a house in the south and moved in (10 months later), our travel trailer was parked in our backyard. It has now sat there for 11 years [never being moved], and we've never needed to air up its tires in that time! These tires have been outdoors in brutal summer sun and cold winters. Also, in the desert, we experience very low humidity (sometimes 4%), so we battle "dry cracks" ruining tires (something I never heard of in Kansas). The travel trailer's tires [today] have NO dry cracks, have stayed up to pressure, and still look new! That SOLD ME on the use of nitrogen in my tires!

After purchasing new tires for 2 vehicles, late in 2015, at substantial cost, we wanted to get all our tires being used regularly back into shape with nitrogen, to preserve them. That's when I got mad, that I STILL could not buy nitrogen inflation in our area. So, assuming there was a way we could do it ourselves, I began studying up on what I needed to accomplish the task. And I pass this on to you.
